THE FACE:
ITS DYNAMICS & FACELIFT (?)
The
face is considered one of the most important aspects of yang within the
body. As the location of the seven
sensory portals and residence of the brain, it reflects a major meeting of wei
qi, blood, and jing-essence to the big Shen in the Upper
Jiao. It is also a blueprint to
constitutional energetics as studied in facial physiognomy.
This weekend seminar will
examine the popularity of cosmetic acupuncture and its potential harm to the
yang qi of the body as qi is mobilized to the face, smooth the skin and relax
the muscles. Discussion will focus on
the dynamics of the face and how responsible care can be utilized for graceful
aging. In addition, the constitutional
aspect of facial physiognomy will be explored.
